Mother Marie Isabel had me in tears one time when I walked in those double doors in
the back near the office, the bell had just rung - that made me LATE!

I remember loving Sr. Mary Anthony in first grade.  Carl Michalek and Jimmy Curran were
famous 'floorwalkers' - they couldn't/wouldn't stay in/at their desks.
Orpha Mac Donald played the role of the Blessed Virgin Mary in our little Christmas play I believe it was in second grade with Sr. Joseph Terese..
Sr. Alethe loved crafts!! She had crochet class after school - being left-handed made me her first  lefty to learn -but she tore out a lot of my stitches before I really caught on. Sr. Ann also taught my Uncle Padraig - he was a favorite of hers - she was YOUNG then - that was back in the early 1940's
I could go on and on!! Submitted by Karen Tobin

Mother Marie Isabel -- I still have a visual of her standing outside her office at exchange of classes (in SILENCE)...she was rather short and round and had her hands together and resting on her stomach and her mouth in a very severe straight line...and a glare!  Karen, I imagine she reduced many of us to tears.

Bill Connelly and I liked her. 9th grade Coach Delaney sent us to the office for a little tussle we were having among good friends. Mother Superior simply asked us if we wanted her to display us in the trophy case to which we obviously indicated our preference to the negative. She grinned warmly at us and sent us back to class. Did I feel a loving smack on the butt when we turned to head back upstairs? Maybe she just "liked" boys. By Tom DeBeaudry

Wow, I can relate to any story about Mother Isabel...she called me in the office on many occassions to let me know that I was not to see Jim Miller. We used to go to the "sweet shop" for lunch and walk back thru the alley to school. Remember the second story balcony window that overlooked the parking lot?  Well, she would stand there with her hands crossed across her chest and watch us come back from lunch. If I was walking back with him she would call his mother (who did not like me) and let her know what was going on. I would then be called back into the office for another sermon about how I was not to see him again.  Well, thank God that did not work! Mary Miller (Sword)
